As volunteers we do not take online donations on behalf of John and Julie, and all donations made by social media have gone directly to Second Chance Rescue via Amazon, Paypal or the Chipin run by overseas volunteers.  In particular we must thank Francia for virtually managing Twitter single handedly whilst we sort out The Big Day. Thank you so much to everybody that has donated via Second Chance Ebay Shop, PayPal and their Amazon Wish list where you can send the animals a gift directly. All of the proceeds go directly to the sanctuary and are re-invested into materials to secure the site to buy food and shelter for the animals. We want to ensure they are safe. So far John and Julie have collected £2,800 towards their restoration and are over whelmed by this support.
With a big thank you to Gill Cartmill who held a pamper evening at her home in Kent. She raised £34.00 for Second Chance Animal Rescue centre. A Big Well Done!
If you would like to visit Second Chance Animal Rescue Centre to meet the animals please contact John on 07804 026773 and for any information regarding the four dogs that were taken, please contact Bromley Police, that are part of The Metropolitan Police Force.
We are all very excited about August 26th and are looking forward to meeting you and your dogs. There has been so much support for this good cause and we hope the animals, that would otherwise face death, can lead a happy remainder of their lives in peace and safety. With thanks to all of the volunteers who have contributed with time and donations. For any information on how you can support Second Chance Rescue directly, please contact John. To help on the 26thAugust at our Doggie Days please contact Lynne Driscoll on 07703 533555 or email us here at PawLets info@pawlets.com
Some have asked why there are no photographs of the two stolen Jack Russell’s and only of Buster and Copper, the family pet a small Border Terrier and a Staffie Cross. John told us, previous to the attack on June 4th, Second Chance Animal Rescue did not see it necessary to log photographs of the animals. However they have since taken this precaution. The attack that took place is particularly cruel and some may find this hard to believe. For any doubts you may have, please make an appointment to visit Second Chance Rescue Centre where you will see how loved these animals are. John, Julie and their children have been deeply affected by this and their sole aim is to provide care and shelter. Alternatively please speak with Bromley Police who are a part of The Metropolitan Police who will be at our Event on August 26th ready to answer any questions any of you may have.
Raffle donations should be posted to Westerham Riding Centre, Buckhurst Road, Kent TN16 2HX.
 See you on The Day!

London Pet Guide helps to promote pet services in London and surrounding areas. We do this by offering precise keywords as to what it is each business has to offer and creating attractive pages for pet owners to enjoy. London Pet Guide have Pet Service Categories For:-
With lots more categories on the way. As soon as you submit your pet business we create a category for you, to be sure that everybody has a place to land on London Pet Guide! We do not however endorse puppy farming or the selling of animals as we firmly support Rescue Centres that are often overburdened due to an excess of unwanted pets.
We now have 'High Definition Show Cases' on our sight for featured pet services, that you can see on our homepage and throughout the site. Plus we have lots of new and exciting pet brands joining London Pet Guide. For instance on of our favourite illustrators, ‘Alexandra Rolfe’ who captures the hearts of pet owners with her ability to create pet portraits with showing the animals true character. We love the soulful expressions Alexandra Rolfe brings to life in the eyes and detail of her wonderful artwork. Please do take the time to visit her page in our new Pet Illustrators section of London Pet Guide.
We also have Waggin’ Tails that offer a Pet Spa, Pet Boutique and Dog Grooming Service in the Chelsea/Fulham area of South West London . Waggin’ Tails have a very pretty website that goes into plenty of detail regarding the services for your pets. They also offer training for those who would like to become Dog Groomers in London and the UK. Everything for your pets under one roof.
We now have a new menu specifically for Rescue Dogs, Rescue Cats and Rabbits in London on behalf of The Mayhew Animal Home situated at Trenmar Gardens, Kensal Green, North London. We have included a direct link to the Mayhew Animal Home website, together with categories for dogs, cats and rabbits in need of new homes. Plus information about becoming a Fosterer for pets. A very rewarding service, that anybody could be eligible for, provided you have free time, the right attitude and of course suitable accommodation. You should contact The Mayhew Animal Centre directly to find out more about becoming a Pet Fosterer.
London Pet Guide have also added a menu for Dogs Lost, such a great cause and run by volunteers. Sadly dogs either go missing or are stolen in the UK, every day. This causes so much anguish to the dogs and owners, it does not do to think about. Dogs Lost provide a crucial service where they will try their best to find these dogs and help them to return home. Our hearts go out to Dogs Lost,  with this essential service they offer as volunteers, to pet owners.
You will have also read in our previous blogs about Alfie’s Law. This is a petition that needs 100,000 signatures to be considered by Government. Alfie’s Law aims to bring in tougher sentences for those that are intentionally cruel to animals. We support Alfie’s Law 100% and urge you to please sign this worthy petition. There is a link to Alfie’s Law on the side menu of our homepage.
Lots of fantastic pet services are adding their information to London Pet Guide and we are thrilled to see all of the new pages come to our site. Pet Insurance UK, Animal Friends Pet Insurers | Featured on London Pet Guide

Animal Friends | Pet Insurance UK

There are companies that offer vet supplies online, where you can purchase directly from them which does save money, but the odds of our pets having to visit the vets at some time during their live is imminent. Firstly you pet should be neutered and of course fully vaccinated.

We must consider the future for our pets, could we afford emergency medical treatment if something goes wrong?

That is where pet insurance UK comes into it. Where do we begin? Each pet insurer in the UK offers different benefits and it is important to explore each option. I decided to look into this myself for my two cats. Tiger and Chief are rescue cats and just over a year old. They are brothers. So far they have lived indoors, but eventually they will have to go outside. Living on a main road and a very busy one at that, is a big factor that I must consider. And whilst I am planning on relocating in the not too distant future, I do have to prepare for either of them being taken ill.

Animal Friends Pet Insurance  is one of the UK's Leading Pet Insurers and offer some fantastic packages. And as you will probably have by now gathered, I am rather passionate about a fair few charities that are involved with Animal Welfare.

Here is some useful information about Animal Friends taken directly from their website.

Great value cover from the Pet Insurance Specialists!

We've set ourselves a £1 million challenge – to donate at least £1 million to animal welfare by the end of 2012; by April 2012 we're already at £762,000 so we're well on our way – help us smash our target!

So basically I am very impressed with what Animal Friends have to offer. Of course they may not be the right pet insurers in the UK for you. As each of us are looking for something that is tailored to our own pets ! I would recommend you visit their site and see what they can do for you.

Simply watch the little movie we have here on our site and you can click through to their website offering more information for you.

Remember, it is often cheaper to purchase online !! Get your pets insured today. Take the stress out of worrying about how you will afford expensive vet fees, before it's too late ! It also gives us extra peace of mind whilst taking our pets away on holiday as this can be a very expensive time of our year. By making adequate provisions we will not be left out of pocket whilst off on our travels with our four legged companions. Always ensure you ask about holiday cover for your pets too.

Welcome to London Pet Guide

London Pet Guide is a new website, launched in June 2012. We began with a general pet directory uk for all of the UK, thus realising that the London area lacked representation of it's own. With claims that over 50% of households being pet owners in the UK, and that number is still climbing. The pet industry is thriving, but with little on line representation. Many pet retailers in London do not have a website so are unable to attract a large enough audience. So many pet owners in the UK, turn to on line surfing to find pet supplies in London. For instance a dog owner may seek a dog groomers in North London or dog walkers in Central London? More than often pet retailers and providers of pet services are right on our doorstep, yet we do not know they exist. In particular animal rescue centres in London are crying out for pet lovers to visit them so that they can find good homes for abandoned and mistreated, dogs, cats and a whole range of pets.

London Pet Guide is hoping that by providing a website for pet owners in London to find pet supplies in London, London Pet shops and so on, it will make life easier for all concerned.

London Pet Guide is a pet directory offering only pet services. We do not endorse breeding and puppy farming. Our sole aim is to unite pet owners with pet retailers in London, an introduction to what is available in each part of London. We have categories for North London, South London, East London, West London, Central London, South East London and South West London. Also we invite pet retailers from surrounding areas of London too. Additionally if you are an On line Pet Supplies UK service, then that is great as you are still providing a doorstep service to pet owners.

Perhaps you require pet shops in London, a pet boutique, pet food supplier, dog accessories or equestrian supplies in London. The list is endless. London Markets who have pet stores should also add their information to London Pet Guide.

People in general lead hectic lifestyles and this is why they may turn to dog walkers in London. A dog walker will take the stress out of your daily routine with the safe knowledge that you dog is not left alone all day, pining for you to come home. Your dog walker can give him or her the exercise they deserve, whilst also ensuring your home is attended at some part of the day, which is always an added bonus. With more peace of mind, we can concentrate on our daily tasks, knowing our pets have something to enjoy whilst we are away.

Many companies now offer combined service. You will discover that many pet sitters in London also offer a dog walking and house sitting service. Some offer dog grooming in London too! Dog grooming a huge market with more and more people investing in pets that do not malt. The problem being that whilst our homes do not get covered in dog hair, our pets coat still needs attention! A dog should be groomed at least every 12 weeks depending on the thickness of his or her coat. Your dog groomer will advise on the best way to maintain your dogs fur and how often you should make a return visit. Some dog groomers in London are better than others, so always ensure you find a dog groomer that is right for you and your pet! Many dog groomers also offer pet supplies and equipment to maintain your dogs coat, dog brushes, doggy shampoo's and so forth. A good way for dog groomers to make an extra income too.

London Pet Guide are looking out for boarding kennels in London and London Catteries too. An essential aide to the pet world. At some time or another we will need to travel away from our pets. Perhaps a family emergency or a much lighter note, a trip abroad. And whilst we can take our pets along with us too, this is not always the best option. Personally speaking, I think that taking our dogs on aeroplane's and then to a hotter climate than our pets are used to, can be cruel and they are probably better being looked after in their own climate. The standard of catteries in London and Dog Kennels in the London area will vary just like any other location. But you can visit a selection of kennels or catteries in your area of London to find the one that get the best instinct about. We are noticing the increase in Dogs Hotels too. A great idea, usually costing more than boarding kennels or catteries, but offering a more domestic feel to the environment, for instance, the dogs get to sleep on mattresses or sofa's and some pet hotels even provide televisions and music so that your pet feels totally at home! I think that is a great idea. London Pet Guide is currently sourcing pet hotels in London so watch this space!

Perhaps you would like to add your pet related business to our categories. We would love you to join us and if you do not see the category you require we will add this for you. Simply let us know. We try to avoid empty categories on the London Pet Guide site and it is a case of supply the pet related category on demand. For instance, soon we are adding Pet Crematoriums in London, that others may refer to as Pet Crems. Pond Supplies London, Aquatics in London and so forth. But this will all take time as we are fairly new to pet owners, we are hoping it will not take long to spot us on line and take advantage of what have set out to achieve. To unite pet owners with pet retailers, suppliers and organisations in London and all of its surrounding areas.

Many Thanks, London Pet Guide.
