FUND RAISING EVENT IN AID OF SECOND CHANCE RESCUE KENT
‘Doggie Days’ Fund Raising Event August 26th 2012
In Aid of Second Chance Animal Rescue Centre Kent. To be held at Westerham Riding Centre, Buckhurst Road, Kent TN16 2HX
As you will know PawLets were made aware of an attack on a Rescue Centre in Scar Crockenhill on June 4th. Feeling somewhat helpless for John and Julie who own the sanctuary, ourselves and several volunteers joined hands to help the sanctuary take care of the remaining animals. 4 Dogs were stolen and small breeds were killed. The Police were present after the scene had taken place and are looking for the perpetrators who did this. Any enquires regarding the incident should be addressed with The Metropolitan Police directly.

We would also like to thank Easy Loo’s for providing portable toilets on the day. A crucial commodity!
On behalf of John and Julie who run and manage Second Chance Rescue Centre we would like to thank all of the amazing people and businesses that have come forward to support The Sanctuary on the day. We are still looking for volunteers and people to host their own stalls. So do let us know if you would like to reserve your table. A table costs £20 for the day!
As volunteers we do not take online donations on behalf of John and Julie, and all donations made by social media have gone directly to Second Chance Rescue via Amazon, Paypal or the Chipin run by overseas volunteers. In particular we must thank Francia for virtually managing Twitter single handedly whilst we sort out The Big Day. For more information please contact John and Julie directly to see how you can help. However on the day of the Event Tiffany and Lynne Driscoll will safeguard the proceeds and hand John and Julie a cheque for CCTV security and shelter. We will keep you updated on the progress! Thank you so much to everybody that has donated via Second Chance Ebay Shop, PayPal and their Amazon Wish list where you can send the animals a gift directly. All of the proceeds go directly to the sanctuary and are re-invested into materials to secure the site to buy food and shelter for the animals. We want to ensure they are safe. So far John and Julie have collected £2,800 towards their restoration and are over whelmed by this support.
With a big thank you to Gill Cartmill who held a pamper evening at her home in Kent. She raised £34.00 for Second Chance Animal Rescue centre. A Big Well Done!
If you would like to visit Second Chance Animal Rescue Centre to meet the animals please contact John on 07804 026773 and for any information regarding the four dogs that were taken, please contact Bromley Police, that are part of The Metropolitan Police Force.
We are all very excited about August 26th and are looking forward to meeting you and your dogs. There has been so much support for this good cause and we hope the animals, that would otherwise face death, can lead a happy remainder of their lives in peace and safety. With thanks to all of the volunteers who have contributed with time and donations. For any information on how you can support Second Chance Rescue directly, please contact John. To help on the 26thAugust at our Doggie Days please contact Lynne Driscoll on 07703 533555 or email us here at PawLets info@pawlets.com
Some have asked why there are no photographs of the two stolen Jack Russell’s and only of Buster and Copper, the family pet a small Border Terrier and a Staffie Cross. John told us, previous to the attack on June 4th, Second Chance Animal Rescue did not see it necessary to log photographs of the animals. However they have since taken this precaution. The attack that took place is particularly cruel and some may find this hard to believe. For any doubts you may have, please make an appointment to visit Second Chance Rescue Centre where you will see how loved these animals are. John, Julie and their children have been deeply affected by this and their sole aim is to provide care and shelter. Alternatively please speak with Bromley Police who are a part of The Metropolitan Police who will be at our Event on August 26th ready to answer any questions any of you may have.
Raffle donations should be posted to Westerham Riding Centre, Buckhurst Road, Kent TN16 2HX.
See you on The Day!
